Repairing Data Archive?
Hi everyone.
Recently i'm having the this "problem": Does anyone knows what is wrong with my computer/game? I always logout with the button and then press the cross to completly exit the game, so, i don't know what may i've done wrong or something. If could anyone help me out, i would appreciate, since its getting boring and annoying... P.S: Don't mind the bad English. |

I'm pretty sure there is something wrong with the GW DAT file in your GW folder, but how to fix it or how it happened, I have no clue.
Shouldn't this be in the technical forum section? |

I've downloaded the entire game with the -image command, downloaded about 3gigs on to the .dat file. Can't really find were the problem is.
P.S: If it's in the wrong section, please move. |

I have this problem as well.
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling using the client from the GW website with no luck. In already opened a thread in the technician forum for this, though my problem is not yet solved. But use the search button, I found several threads about this issie The problem started getting worse after the beta event for Nightfall, and I experience random crashes between matches in PVP. I can say that the problem is probably on my end. It could be either a problem with my software instalation, or with my hardware. Here is what I suggest you do, which is what I am doing as well: 1. Defrag your harddrive and see if it helps 2. Scan your computer for viruses and spyware. 3. Should 1 and 2 do not work, Sadly I will have to format my hardisk and reinstall Windows. 4. Install the game on a different PC and see if I get the same errors. If I don't, then chances are that there is a problem with my hardware. Edit: Here is the reason why I have time to write in these threads, I am waiting for the game to start up. (see attached image) Last edited by Henchman; Aug 14, 2006 at 07:18 PM // 19:18.. |

I had that problem before I ran defrag on my drive. After that, there were no more issues. A defrag should be sufficient to fix the problem.

It can also be a hardware failure. If you have two memory modules or more, take one of them away and check if it does that again.
